As a child, I was struck by the television hero Dr Who’s ability to always stay calm and even make a joke or two in the face of danger - then played by the actor Tom Baker. Any person can be happy and peaceful when they have several million pounds in the bank and plenty of free time to spend it on parties and holidays; the achievement in life, which truly deserves merit, is the ability to be peaceful and happy regardless of your circumstances. A person may spend years building a large and lucrative career, and yes it is an achievement; but if their career plans fail and they find their-self on hard times - it happens, will they remain happy? To be happy and peaceful regardless of the circumstances is the most valuable and easiest skill a person can develop, and when they have it, other successes will follow. People warm to those that are happy and peaceful; so those that have this skill are far better equipped for success in their personal and business relationships. Can you imagine how powerful that person would be, a person that can calmly meet any situation in life with a smile on their face. If I could write a magic spell, then rather than one which brought me great wealth, it would be a spell that gave me peace and happiness; though we do not need magic for this, we just need to change how we think about life, the subconscious mind organises our thoughts, so to change how we think we need to decide our intentions and in doing so, communicate them to the subconscious mind. (I shall be publishing a page soon, about the workings of the subconscious mind.) This is the ultimate stress management tool; it is important to support this with regular meditation, however, it largely works on its own, to reframe the whole life experience. Next time life is challenging, perhaps there is a little stress, anxiety or depression, try this for yourself; repeat the following mood lifting, magic spell: ‘This is and excellent opportunity to practice being calm and happy.’ The ability to remain calm during times of peace is almost useless, the ability to feel happy during times of good fortune is of little good. The ability to remain calm and happy regardless of your circumstances is the most valuable skill that you can learn. Additional Explanation & Guidance This magic spell works, but you do need to practice using it at those times when it is most required. You would not expect to fell a tree with one swing of the axe, and likewise, you may practice using the spell in several situations before peace and happiness become your normal state of emotion; and I like to think of this as stress management. The function of this spell is to overcome the habit, which people have been taught from an age so young such that they can’t remember, the habit of only feeling good during times of success, which feels natural but is not. By determining to meet all situations with a sense of peace and happiness, you send an important message to your subconscious mind, instructing it how you would like it to handle your emotional state during challenging situations. One person used this technique the first time, one day when they were worrying; the day before they had heard a rumour in the office that their company was going to have to make redundancies, so that day they were feeling quite anxious and they gave the spell a try and repeated to themselves: ‘This is and excellent opportunity to practice remaining calm and happy.’ First they laughed a little, then a sense of peace came over them, and they were able to go about the rest of their day feeling peaceful and happy.
